Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PACE (Parts Accessories Clothing Expert). Continued PACE training sessions to obtain certification.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Schooling or experience in general merchandies and retail sales.
• Experience with Point-of-Sale & computerized inventory systems or the ability to quickly learn.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to produce creative and appealing displays.
• Be prompt and available for flexible scheduling.

Physical Demands:
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must have the ability to stand and walk the sales floor for most of the day.
• Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift 40 lb. of merchandise.

Working Conditions:
• Majority of work is conducted indoors; however, some outdoor booth sales are conducted periodically during open houses or other events.

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 30, 2011) -

Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec rode a Harley-Davidson® V-Rod® to win the Pro Stock Motorcycle eliminations at the Big O Tires NHRA Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Krawiec defeated his Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines teammate Andrew Hines in the final. With one event remaining on the season schedule, Krawiec holds a 69-point lead in the Full Throttle NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

“This puts us in a great position for the championship, but we need to stay on our game,” said Krawiec, who won the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world championship in 2008. “We can’t give up any points in qualifying, and need to just keep doing what we’ve been doing.”

At the beginning of Sunday eliminations, Krawiec held a nine-point lead over Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana, Jr., who gained a point on the Harley-Davidson rider in qualifying with a track-record 6.879-second run on Saturday to earn the No. 1 qualifying spot. Krawiec qualified second at 6.894 seconds. Hines qualified fourth at 6.902 seconds.

Krawiec defeated Vroom Racing Buell rider David Hope in the first round on Sunday, and got a win over Nitro Fish Suzuki rider LE Tonglet in round two. Arana Jr. lost in the second round to Angie Smith, handing Krawiec an opportunity to add to his points lead. The Screamin’ Eagle rider took full advantage, with a big win over Hector Arana Sr. on the second Lucas Oil Buell in round three, and a victory over his teammate in the final, with a 6.936-second run that was his quickest of the day. It was Krawiec’s fourth win of the season and 11th of his career.

“I had a great Harley-Davidson to ride all weekend,” said Krawiec. “Matt Hines put a new-style exhaust system on the bike that was a big improvement in performance. Other than that, we’ve just been consistent on the lights and smooth down the track. Over the long haul, that’s what it takes to win.”

Hines worked through Sunday eliminations with wins over Rum Bum Buell rider Bailey Whitaker, Suzuki Extended Protection rider Jim Underdahl, and Angie Smith before facing Krawiec in a final-round match for the first time since 2009.

“We didn’t have time to dyno-test this new exhaust, so we tried it on my bike first in qualifying before we put it on Ed’s V-Rod, because we didn’t want to take a chance with his points lead,” said Hines. “It made a positive difference right away. Ed is sitting in a great position and I can’t wait to get to Pomona and race this Harley. Maybe I’ll have a chance to knock off Arana and help him with the championship.”

With one Countdown event left on the 2011 schedule, Krawiec leads the Pro Stock Motorcycle class by 69 points, with 2,589 total points. Arana Jr. is second with 2,520 points. Matt Smith, who lost in round one at Las Vegas, is third with 2,403 points. Hines moves up to fourth place with 2,384 points. Geico Suzuki rider Karen Stoffer failed to qualify at Las Vegas and drops to fifth place with 2,329.

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series returns to action on November 10-13 at the 47th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California.

CHANDLER, AZ (October 16, 2011) - Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec holds the Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racing points lead after advancing to the final round of eliminations at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway. Krawiec lost in the final to Hector Arana Jr., and holds a 10-point lead over Arana Jr. with two events remaining in the Full Throttle NHRA Countdown to the Championship.Krawiec advanced through Sunday eliminations, riding a Harley-Davidson® V-Rod® to wins over Suzuki Extended Protection rider Jim Underdahl, Mike Berry on the Vroom/LAT Racing Oil Buell, and Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana. That set up a final-round pairing with top-qualifier Arana Jr. on the other Lucas Oil Buell. H-D Custom Seats

We sit on them, we sweat on them, and unless they are uncomfortable we often don't even think about them. If you cruise around the Harley-Davidson.com website, you may have seen a small window floating around near the bottom of the page marketing custom stitched H-D seats. I recently decided to follow this link to find out what all the buzz is about. I discovered that H-D has made it possible to build your own custom seat! Using a variety of selection tab windows and options, you are able to create your dream seat and use a great emulator to preview the finished product. Follow along as I build a custom seat for a new bike.

Here we have Harley-Davidson's Custom Seat Program main dash board. This is where we will "Turn a seat into a statement.” Simply begin by choosing the year and model of the H-D that you are building the seat for and be sure to select either a solo or a two-up seat. Then, select the customize this seat icon. Throughout this process you will find that H-D dedicated a lot of time to building this program through its’ stimulating imagery and user friendly structure. This is a fun process that can be reworked again and again until you have found the right layout and stitch color for your bike.

On the next page we are brought to a really cool seat builder with a very realistic preview of our seat. Under the customize tab we are given 4 pages of designs to choose from. I decided to go with the Harley-Davidson Number One Skull image with orange stitching for my seat. We can also see that I am building this two-up seat for a 2012 Road King - FLHR and we are also presented with the MSRP price. Play around with the different designs and stitch colors in this window to see what fits your style and your bike best. Some designs will allow for a variety of die colors for your inlay pieces and may even provide you with a different choice of materials such as Ostrich or Alligator. Once you have your design and color nailed down we are ready to continue on with the process.

The next step in the builder process is to click on the tab, "Take it to your dealer". It is here that you will be given the option to print your custom seat details or create a link for your personal seat. Either of these options allow you to come down to Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson and have us order your new custom seat. With this great option, Harley-Davidson has taken a lot of the time out of searching for your a perfect, custom stitched seat. With over 10 different designs available, there is something for everyone and a price that is comprable to any new seat on the market. Road Trip Tips

Packing for a road trip can be a daunting task if you are not used to the idea. What do I really need? Why am I bringing that? There are many questions that arise, and I thought I would do some research to see what I could find.

Below are a collection of tips that are offered on the Harley-Davidson Owners website. Along with these tips, H-D offers this check list which is a valuble tool to the novice packer. So check out some of the tips as even the most experienced rider could benefit from a few new ideas.

· Lightweight synthetic clothing – such as T-shirts and underwear – can be washed in a hotel sink and dried overnight (cotton fabrics take too long to dry in this manner).

· Zipper-lock plastic bags of various sizes can be extremely useful for organizing items in saddlebags and duffle bags. They can make it easier to find and retrieve particular items without unpacking your entire motorcycle. Use the one-gallon size to pack one day's worth of clothes – jeans, undergarments, and shirt. This makes it easier to unpack just what you need.

· Don't fold your clothes – roll them. They take up less space that way.

· Pack items that have more than one use. A multi-tool is handier than a basic pocket knife.

· When traveling with other riders, conserve space by comparing packing lists and eliminating duplicate items.

· When traveling (two-up) with a spouse or "significant other", ask yourself questions such as: "Can we share a tube of toothpaste?" or "Can I get by using her shampoo for a week?"

· On long trips, consider bringing your rattiest underwear (or other clothing), then just throw it away when you're done with it!

· Check the cargo weight limits of your bike - as wells as the bags and racks - and adjust tire pressure and suspension accordingly.

· Few things are as easy to pack as money or credit cards. If you're struggling with whether or not to bring a particular item, consider simply buying it on the road if you need it.

· If you watch the ounces, the pounds will take care of themselves. When possible, lighter is better.

· When loading your bike, keep as much weight as possible close to the bike's center of gravity. That means low and toward the tank, distributed evenly from side to side.

· A day or two before you leave, do a dry run. Pack the bike and go for a short ride, then adjust the load as needed.

· If you're camping, set up your tent once or twice before you leave (and don't forget to waterproof it). Practice setting it up in the dark.

· With your bike fully loaded for your road trip, check your headlamp to make sure it’s properly aimed.

· Pack all your cold weather and raingear no matter what time of year it is.

· Plastic bags make great boot liners if you forgot your gaiters.

· If you forgot your rain gloves, rubber dishwashing gloves make great, inexpensive substitutes.

· A small towel can be wrapped around your neck during a rainstorm to keep water from running down your back – and doubles as a shop rag.

Step by Step to HD1™ Factory Customization

Hopefully you have already gotten a chance to check out Harley-Davidson's HD1™ factory customization website. If not, I thought I would take a moment to highlight how this really cool option is unique in the world of motorcycles.

This is what you will find when you visit the HD1™ home page. It is chock-full of cool links and images demonstrating what is possible using the factory customization program from Harley-Davidson. Before, you purchased your bike with standard parts and then ended up buying new parts to customize your bike to suit your riding style and desires. Why waste time and money from the beginning purchasing the wrong parts?

Here we are at the bike builder page. You can click to rotate the base model that you would like to construct your personalized bike from. There are many to choose from and once you find the right model you are ready to move on. We are now ready to explore all the different options available!

Once inside the bike builder you really get a feel for all that is possible with this tool. In the example to the right, you can see that I have added custom paint and a few other accessories to my build. Be sure to click on all of the links to the left as well as inside of each category to see the different option pages that you have to choose from. For instance, under style, I not only have wheels but I can also adjusted the front and rear end components as well as the color, engine trim and gauges.

Once you have made all of your enhancements be sure to click bike details to pull up the following screen. Here you can do many different things like save the bike for future use, schedule a test ride, or print a mock up out of the bike to bring to the dealership so we can help you order your custom creation!

With April being helmet awareness month, Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson® and Buddy Stubbs Anthem Harley-Davidson® have decided to do our part by offering a special promotion on helmets during our April Hogs & Dogs events. Please refer to this month’s flier for more information concerning the promotion.

During AZ Bike Week we had the chance to talk with a lot of riders that had either never worn a helmet, or had been wearing the same old heavy one that they purchased when they first bought their bike new. No matter the personal reason that has caused you to put safety near the top of your shopping list (and we’re glad you have) we’ve got news for you! Harley-Davidson helmets have come a long way in terms of technology, comfort and weight. A great place to visit to learn more about helmets is Harley-Davidson's Helmet Guide. There you can read about these new improvements, discover what is involved in keeping you safe and find out if the helmet that you desire is the right fit for not only your head but your riding style and desired protection level. The following text is taken from the H-D.com website and outlines the proper procedure to fit your new found lust for safety.

Follow these steps to find the proper fit:

•Place helmet on head and fasten the chin straps securely so that there is no space between your brow-line and the inner lining.

•To test the fit and the retention system, move your head from side to side and front to back. You should feel the skin on your head move with the helmet. The helmet should fit as tightly as you can comfortably wear it, because the helmet's inner liner will compress with use..

•With the chin strap securely fastened, you should not be able to roll the helmet forward, off your head. If you can, the helmet is too large. You should try on the next smaller size.

•Wear the helmet for at least fifteen consecutive minutes prior to purchase, to ensure that there are no uncomfortable pressure points. If you do experience uncomfortable pressure points, try on a helmet that is one size larger.

•If you typically wear eyeglasses or sunglasses, bring them along to ensure that they will fit without causing pressure points at your ears and the bridge of your nose.

•Once you have found a proper fitting helmet, remember to check your range of vision to the left, to the right, up and down, to insure that no part of the helmet obstructs your field of vision.

Buddy Stubbs has got it, and why you should too! - Nitrogen for your tires

If you are like many riders, the opportunity that you have to get out on your favorite motorcycle for a ride may be less than you cares to admit. Or maybe you are the envied rider seen tooling up and down the roads every day. No matter which type of rider you are, filling your tires with nitrogen offers long lasting benefits able to stand up to the miles that your bike sees. While the positive effects of using nitrogen may reach beyond its’ intended result, we can all appreciate the added stability the product provides to us while we ride.

Nitrogen keeps your tires cooler than compressed air and reduces pressure build up due to its dry condition. The elimination of water vapor within the tire allows the temperature and PSI to stay consistent during constant, heavy use as well as during time of neglect. It is for this reason that organizations known for high speeds like NASCAR®, Indy Car ® and NASA all put their trust in nitrogen to fill their tires.

On a molecular level nitrogen molecules are larger than those of oxygen, which ultimately reduces pressure seepage over time. Tires filled with compressed air can lose as much as 12 PSI over a 6 month period decreasing your tire’s performance and increasing wear. Your biggest savings in choosing nitrogen will be evident in the amount of wear seen on your tires and since these products are expensive the longer we can keep them in good condition the better.

Riding season is upon us!

If you are a winter-weary motorcycle enthusiast, I have good news for you! Warmer weather is upon us and soon you will be hitting the open roads on your favorite two-wheeler. After a long winter in extended storage, your bike will likely need some TLC.

Below is a summary of our pre-ride inspection checklist which will help you get your bike ready to ride after those long months of colder weather and neglect.

• Check the air pressure of your tires and inflate to the weight specified in your owner's manual. Look for tire wear-and-tear on the treads, cracks, and check for bulges or embedded objects.
• Review the levers and pedals to make sure they are still lubricated, adjusted and properly fitted. They should not be broken, bent or cracked. Inspect cables to make sure they are not frayed, kinked or folded into sharp angles. Also, test to make sure your bike's cables do not at anytime interfere with your ability to steer. Be sure to test that the throttle moves freely, does not stick and snaps closed when released.
• Review the bike's headlamp for cracks. Confirm that the headlamp points at the right height and direction. Test the operation of the high beam and low beam options. Check the tail lamp and brake lights for any cracks and make sure they work at the appropriate times. Test both of the turn signals - left and right! Also be sure to check for all possible fluid leaks and always be aware of the level of engine oil in your bike.

For more tips, check your owner's manual. Included in your manual is a checklist for getting your particular make and model of bike ready for a summer of riding after any duration of inactivity. You also have the option of contacting our service department where we can set up a time to pick up your bike and go over everything with you. It is definitely money well spent.
